Lisa Besserman joins Expa as Managing Director

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve officially joined the Expa team as Managing Director. In this role, I’ll be spearheading Expa’s early-stage investment program as I work alongside Expa’s world-class team of builders to support the next generation of founders.

Before joining Expa, I worked as Head of Program at Indeed Incubator, where I worked on their internal product accelerator dedicated to pioneering new ideas and validating products. The incubator comprised 15 startup teams internationally and a multidisciplinary team of over 100 employees. I also have a background as an entrepreneur myself, having founded Startup Buenos Aires, an early-stage startup accelerator dedicated to supporting startups in Latin America and internationally. After Startup Buenos Aires was acquired, I worked closely with Argentina’s government to build a public incubator program and help establish a startup ecosystem in Latin America.

At Expa, I’m thrilled to be going back to my roots and work hand-in-hand with early-stage startups. Working with startups has always been a passion of mine, and I have great respect for the resilience, tenacity, and grit that all founders share. Since the Expa partners are former entrepreneurs and operators, they deeply understand the challenges, obstacles, and opportunities of entrepreneurship. With this founder-first principle, Expa provides a truly unique value add for startups. Venture capital is so much more than being a financial partner — it’s also about supporting founders strategically and providing them with the best possible conditions for their startups to thrive.

Great entrepreneurs exist everywhere, and I’m excited to be working with the Expa team to support founders in our flexible, pre-seed program. If you have a great idea and are looking for a partner, we encourage you to apply at Expa — we would love to hear from you.
